Gender Sterotyping

For the show that i am doing I will analyze the simpsons. Gender stereotyping in the show is how marge simpson stays at home and takes care of the house, does all the cooking and takes care of the kids while her husband homer just goes to "work" and then goes to the bar to drink with his friends. This show has been around for a long time and they still keep the same gender roles. Marge tries to get jobs here and there however they usually never last long while homer never loose his job even though he is a terrible employee. The show also features racial couples however not interracial couples which I found interesting. 

One of the main characters is Lisa, she is different than the rest of her family because she is smart and has dreams, she wants to go off to college and be well educated and not find a husband right away if ever. Her mom usually asks what if she never finds a husband and lisa is okay with not getting married. She breaks the gender stereotype that women should just get married and have babies.
